Registered nurse (RN)
Duties and Responsibilities: Registered nurses give the sick and ailing care in healthcare facilities. They work as part of a team with physicians, other nurses and healthcare professionals to provide care, monitor health conditions, plan long-term care needs, administer medicine, use medical equipment, perform minor medical operations, and advise patients and their families on illness, care and continued care after a hospital stay
Salary: $31.10, or $64,690 a year
Education: associate degrees or bachelor's degrees in nursing.
Demand for this Profession: The BLS estimated a 19% job growth for RNs in the years 2012-2022.
